A recasting of Redemption
Moving away from images
Of atonement    reparation
An understanding more
In keeping with the humility
Of the Incarnation
The cross   the outstretched arms
An embrace   a nuptial yes
To the depths of blind necessity
The all-too-familiar human stuff
Hurt   loss   betrayal   cruelty
Torture   cancer   death
Of course Easter radiance as well
Love   joy   friendship   kindness
Everything healed   hallowed
